Nicole on her laptop, sitting on the couch with a white sweater. Text overlapping: Hello! I'm Nicole It's so nice to meet you!

I was born and raised in the mountainous province of British Columbia, I am an animal lover, sushi fanatic, and self-anointed bookworm.

I have been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst®, since 2019 and love helping people feel empowered, and supported on their journey to make positive changes in their lives.

I love sharing what I have learned about sleep, habit building, and behaviour with all of you.

How did I get started in this field?

My journey to behaviour analysis is a classic one.

I fell into it. It started one day on the pool deck, in the middle of the summer when a parent suggested I look into becoming a behaviour interventionist (aka. RBT around the world) and work with autistic children.

I found my first job on Craigslist and the rest is history. I will forever be grateful to that parent, as they helped me find a field that changes the world every day.

One year

into my Master’s program, my professor challenged someone in my class to become a sleep specialist.

There was a large gap in services for children with many diverse needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, anxiety, etc.), there was no one who specialized with sleep with this population. So, I accepted that challenge.

After a lot of research, completing my graduate project on sleep, gaining mentorship in this area, and making a difference for my clients I KNEW that I had to drop everything and study it.

Through my journey supporting children and their families, I quickly realized that a large majority of adults also struggle to achieve a good nights sleep. That is why Your Behaviour Gal was created. I was motivated to share resources and all that I was learning when it came to changing my own sleep with the masses!

When it comes down to it, I’m not only passionate about sleep, but I’m motivated to help others develop life-changing habits that ultimately improve their overall quality of life.

From my own personal experience with many sleepless nights, I recognize the impact lack of sleep can have on my physical and mental health. Through getting better sleep, my ability to show up in my business, for my clients, and for my personal relationship has shifted for the better.

I want that for you and am so excited to share all that I know to help you achieve your goals.

My Education

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Psychology

I attended Simon Fraser University from 2010 - 2015. During my time here I volunteered at the Autism and Developental Disabilities Lab with Dr. Grace Iarocci. Fun Fact: In 2013, I had the opportunity to travel abroad for school and lived in Norway for 5 months. It was the most expensive but most amazing time of my life!

Master’s Degree (M.Ed.)

Special Education Concentration in Autism and Developmental Disabilities

I attended UBC (University of British Columbia) from 2016-2018. Here is where my passion for sleep flourished. Understanding that sleep was foundational to the success of my clients was eye-opening. I pursued this specialization through continued education outside of my Master’s program and continue my learning every day.
