I’m Nicole Shallow, the founder and Clinical Director of Your Behaviour Gal Consulting Inc., a Category A Registered Autism Service Provider offering behaviour consultation across beautiful British Columbia.
I’m also a proud mother to my little boy, whom I lovingly call "O." My experience as a parent has quickly and deeply influenced my work, guiding me to understand how the science of behavior analysis plays a role in our everyday lives.
Let’s be honest, there’s no parenting book that has all the answers, and my journey has shown me how important it is to apply the science of learning not only to my own choices but also in helping guide my family.
Since becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® in 2019, I’ve remained committed to providing behaviour consultation support with a compassionate, inclusive approach. At Your Behaviour Gal Consulting Inc., we integrate other disciplines and research into our work to support families in finding clarity, feeling empowered, and arming them with the tools they need to help their families thrive.
If you’re looking for expert, supportive guidance in navigating autism, behaviour consultation, or other related services in British Columbia, I’m here to help!

How did I get started in this field?
My journey to behaviour analysis is a classic one.
I fell into it. It started one day on the pool deck, in the middle of the summer when a parent suggested I look into becoming a behaviour interventionist (aka. RBT around the world) and work with autistic children.
I found my first job on Craigslist and the rest is history. I will forever be grateful to that parent, as they helped me find a field that changes the world every day.
One year into my Master’s program, my professor challenged someone in my class to take on sleep as a specialty.
It didn’t take long for me to dive into the research, seek mentorship, and develop expertise in sleep and behaviour. This became my passion, and I quickly realized that sleep is more than just rest—it’s a critical foundation for learning, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. By integrating sleep science into my work in autism and behaviour consultation, I’ve been able to support families across British Columbia in creating sustainable, evidence-based sleep solutions that improve daily life.
Beyond working directly with families, I am also passionate about educating international audiences through conferences, online presentations, and corporate training. By sharing the science of sleep and behaviour, I empower professionals, organizations, and caregivers with the tools they need to foster better sleep and overall well-being.

My Education
Bachelors of Arts (B.A)
I attended Simon Fraser University from 2010 to 2015, where I completed my degree majoring in Psychology. During my time here I gained invaluable experience in the field of autism and behaviour consultation in British Columbia. During my time there, I volunteered at the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Lab with Dr. Grace Iarocci.
Through this experience, I deepened my understanding of autism assessment, the research process, data entry and analysis, and the factors that impact family quality of life.
Masters Degree in Special Education
Concentration in Autism and Developmental Disabilities
I attended the University of British Columbia from 2016 to 2018, where I focused my Master’s studies on key areas of autism, behaviour consultation, and sleep consultation in British Columbia. My research explored topics such as feeding, parent support, and sleep for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences.
While completing my coursework, I also received supervision from experienced behaviour consultants, working towards my 1,500 supervised practicum hours to meet the BACB requirements. In 2019, I sat for the Board Certification exam—and I’ve never looked back!
As a dedicated behaviour consultant specializing in autism and sleep consultation, I continue to expand my knowledge by earning 32+ continuing education credits each year. I am committed to staying up to date with the latest research and best practices, ensuring that the families I support in British Columbia receive the most effective, evidence-based strategies to improve behaviour, sleep, and overall well-being.
