Meet Maysa!

Meet Maysa Sharifi one of our Junior Behaviour Consultants!

Maysa has just completed her undergraduate degree in Behavior Analysis from the Capilano University. Maysa has been an incredible asset to the YBG team and continues to demonstrate strong awareness of her client’s needs. Her strengths lie in her ability to truly understand her client’s interests, passions and values and she comes alongside, even if that means training to run the 10km Sun Run. She is always up for anything! We are excited to continue to support Maysa in her journey to achieving her BCaBA certification.

Here is a little bit more about Maysa!

🔍 My Why: My journey to pursuing my BCaBA certification started when I completed a short co-op exchange at an elementary school in my pursuit to becoming a teacher. There, I met a young boy on the Autism Spectrum that inspired me to change career paths and enter in to the field of behaviour analysis. Over the years, the connections that I have made with the families and children that I work with, have truly affirmed my decision.

👩‍🎓 Professional Journey: I have volunteered working with children and youth since the age of 15. Since starting my post secondary education, I have worked with families in-home to provide one-on-one support for them, and have spent some time working as an ABA support worker in secondary school.

🎯 Specialization: When working with clients, my biggest focus is to teach them autonomy and encourage their self-expression. I believe that fostering and strengthening these skills creates the necessary foundation for a more empowered and inclusive future.

🔑 The key to building strong and trusting relationships: With clients and their families comes down to mutual respect and genuine care. I value having a collaborative and inclusive approach by involving families in the therapeutic process. Working together on the same team and having shared goals creates that strong and trusting relationship.

🌈 My Approach is Client-Focused: I adopt this approach when supporting families. My central goal is to prioritize the unique needs of each client and to ensure that the behavioural strategies implemented help enhance their quality of life.

🎵 Beyond the Office: To contrast the “sciency” aspect of my life, I like to paint and write music in my free time! I have competed in piano competitions as a child and have continued to play the piano and guitar leisurely as my creative outlet.

If you are interested in my services please schedule a discovery call where we can discuss further. I look forward to hearing from you!
